Charles J. DiRaimondo was born on March 26, 1922. A lifelong New Jersey resident, he grew up in Trenton, where he attended Trenton Central High School. DiRaimondo then worked as a clerk before enlisting in the U.S. Army in October 1942.

 

DiRaimondo joined the MFAA Branch of the U.S. Group Control Council for Germany in early June 1945, serving as a stenographer at headquarters in Berlin alongside Chief Clerk Monuments Man S/Sgt. James O. Cook. He later worked at the MFAA Property Control Branch. DiRaimondo remained involved in monuments operations until at least October 1945. Following his return to New Jersey, DiRaimondo worked in the Ordinance Department at Fort Dix in his hometown of Trenton. In 1955 he began a nearly thirty-year career with the New Jersey State Police Department which included a promotion to Supervisor of the Fingerprinting Bureau at the New Jersey State Police Headquarters in West Trenton. An avid gardener and fisherman, he retired in September 1982 to spend more time with family and friends.

 

Charles DiRaimondo died in Trenton, New Jersey on February 8, 2013.
