Lionel G. Perry (?-?)
Lionel G. Perry served as a MFAA Officer with the Military Government for North Rhine Province in Düsseldorf, Germany. He investigated several suspected repositories for looted works of art and other cultural artifacts in the British Zone of Occupation in Germany, including Schloss Pommersfelden, Schloss Gaibach, and Schloss Ruedenhausen. In December 1945 Perry organized the careful packing and shipment to Düsseldorf of thirty paintings, all without stretchers, from the Marburg Central Collecting Point. He later received a promotion to Chief of the MFAA Branch of the British High Commission for Germany, North Rhine and Westphalia, in Düsseldorf.
The Foundation is very interested in locating someone by this name who served as a Monuments Man. If you have any information, please contact abottinelli@monumentsmenfoundation.org.
