Ladislav Lawrence “Larry” Prochaska was born in New York City on April 23, 1918. He worked as an airplane mechanic in New York before enlisting in the U.S. Army in December 1943. Prochaska joined the MFAA Branch of the U.S. Group Control Council for Germany (USGCC) in July 1945, serving as a file clerk alongside Monument Men S/Sgt. James O. Cook and T/4 Charles J. DiRaimondo. He later worked at the Reparations, Deliveries and Restitutions (RD&R) Message Center.
Ladislav Prochaska died on February 24, 1995, and was buried in Prince George County, Virginia.
