Research Assistant, American Council of Learned Societies (ACLS)

An ancient and medieval art historian, William L.M. Burke led the Commission’s research project, originally founded by the American Council of Learned Societies. He was the Director of the Index of Christian Art at Princeton where he remained until 1951.
