Captain Erik Winkler

Erik Winkler served as a Czechoslovakian Art Representative in Germany and Austria. Stationed at the Salzburg Art Collecting Center, Winkler identified works of art and other cultural objects stolen from Czechoslovakia by the Nazis. He accepted many restitutions on behalf of the Czechoslovakian Government, including tapestries belonging to the Order of Malta from Prague, the Gompera Collection of Moravia, and the Konopiste Armor Collection.
